Welcome to the NHK, an anime series from Gonzo, based on the
manga series by Tatsuhiko Takimoto, is the latest offering in a recent
trend of anime and live-action shows about Otaku, such as: The
slice-of-life series Genshiken; Densha Otoko, which was supposedly
based on a true story; and titles like Lucky Star and Doujin Work have
covered the lighter end of things, while NHK takes a firm seat on the darker side of the spectrum.
